Inka Rating - Born in 1981 - Born in the heart of the Ruhr area
I am proud to be a native of the Ruhr region! My family comes from Mülheim an der Ruhr, and I lived there until I was 26 years old. Today I like to visit my brother and his family regularly, as well as some friends who still live in Mülheim.
I spent 10 years in Cologne - including carnival and unforgettable experiences. Cologne is a city that I carry deep in my heart.
My way to Hanover
In 2019, love brought me to Hanover. I live here in a cozy house with my partner Sebastian, our son Ragnar, Labrador Olaf and my two part-time prey children Loic and Annaick. Since then, I haven't regretted a moment, and Hanover has become my new home.
The DevAngels - Our joint project
My partner and I both work from home - and even together! We founded DevAngels together in 2019. At DevAngels, I'm primarily responsible for recruiting. I lovetracking downtalented female developersand conducting the initial, non-technical interviews to see whether the candidatesare a good fit for us on a personal level. After that, our CTO Benjamin takes over for the technical check.
At DevAngels, we have built a team that we value not only professionally but also personally. With highly qualified employees and well thought-out processes, we have managed to establish a way of working that makes everyday life easier and more efficient for both our customers and ourselves.
Networking at the BNI
I am an enthusiastic networker and spend a lot of time in the BNI network. This is where I make valuable contacts and regularly exchange ideas with other entrepreneurs and experts. Although I describe myself as introverted, I appreciate the exchange with intelligent, open and humorous people.
Coaching, counseling and hypnosis - my second vocation
In addition to my work at DevAngels, I have a second passion: I offer couples and sex therapy as well as hypnosis in my coaching and counseling room. With my training as a therapist, my focus is on topics related to love and working with the human psyche.
I already had my own practice in Cologne, where I worked with children and young people, among others. I am particularly proud to have given the children I worked with during this time strength and courage for their lives.
How software and the psyche go together
People often ask me how I combine my two areas of work - software development and therapy. For me, the answer is clear: both software and the human psyche are about programming. There are many parallels, be it in finding solutions or in understanding complex relationships.
Leisure and family
In my free time, I like to spend time with our Labrador Olaf. Together we explore the Eilenriede in Hanover, make the Bult unsafe or go hiking in the Harz Mountains. I am passionate about traveling and have already visited 57 countries. I like the mix of nature and cities - I can also lie around on the beach, but I prefer to be out and about and really get to know the country, people and culture. One of my next destinations is definitely Western Australia. I really want to see the quokkas there.
I became a mother for the first time in May 2024. So far, I've managed the challenging everyday life with baby, work, partnership and dog very well. Let's just say I'm rarely bored!
The new challenges, the unpredictable daily routine and the structures that are nevertheless provided, especially by my son and the dog, get me in top form most days. At the moment, I'm growing with my tasks.
